Heads Of State Millinery

Hello readers! I am back with another post from the fashion festival. I do hope you guys aren't bored yet about the fashion festival cause I still have a few more posts about it up on my sleeves. And this post might be what you've been waiting for, it's about a fashion show for not only clothes and dresses but focuses on headpieces! Unique isn't it?

I myself has always been and will always be a huge fan of hats and headpieces, so I really looked forward to this show and of course to share about it with you too, my wonderful readers!

If you are one of my loyal readers you might have noticed that I seem to be in a very good mood at the moment, cause I used quite a lot of exclamation marks starting from the very few sentence of this post. And you are probably wondering why is that so?

That's because I have great plans for my next blog posts and going to do a collaboration with a web called WhatWeLike soon! And I'm just getting started with the brain storming idea. Curious much?

Stay tuned and I'll tell you more about it in my next blog posts!

Enough talking about me, let's move on and check out this wonderful collection by the Heads of State Millinery!

A Brief Introduction

Heads of State Millinery designs sustainable statement hats by applying radical redesign to the art of hat-making. Celebrating the luxury of handmade, they create fresh applications for indigenous craft traditions and utilize overlooked raw materials. Each hat draws inspiration from different cultures, making a lasting connection between hat-makers and hat-owners. As each piece makes its way around the world, it makes a statement for fashion as a positive force in ecologically and socially responsible development. The brand is pioneered by Chee Sau Fen, an award-winning self-taught designer who previously spent over 15 years working in the visual arts, exhibition and events industries. Since turning her focus to her own creative work at the beginning of 2011, she has earned immense recognition for her successful collision of art, fashion and sustainability.

My Personal Thoughts about Heads of State Millinery

Two words: LOVE IT!!
Each pieces are unique and really special in their own way. When you find the right headpiece that suits you best in one of their collection, I can guarantee that you will feel like it's absolutely made for you. Beside their fashionable models, they are also very light, the designer herself explained to me that they use raw traditional materials which makes their hats not only ecological but also have a cultural values from the place where the hat makers craft them and besides who doesn't love a light accessory that doesn't give you headache?

These hats are also perfect for horse ridding season in those countries who hold them!

I felt so lucky cause I had time to visit their booth on the second day of the runway and managed to have a little chit chat with the designer herself, Ms. Fen. She was actually really humble and kind. She's from the Sunny Island, Singapore.

The thing that intrigue me the most is the fact that she never had lessons in fashion design at all. She is purely self taught in hat making. Well that talent didn't came out of nowhere of course because she was a fine art student and I can definitely tell that she sure knows what she's doing and have real talent in art! Two thumbs up for Ms. Fen!!

I sure wish to follow her footsteps and be successful at doing what I love to do :D

Looking at it makes me feel like a pretty forest princess! ;;)

It's time for a mirror selfie with my cute tiara and a glimpse of how my samsung camera looks like if some of you might be wondering what camera do I use to take my pictures.

And this is a picture of me with the super talented Ms. Fen <3

The girl on the left with a straw hat is actually the designer of the clothes that the model wore on the runway, another talented girl and she even looks younger than me! Unfortunately, I can't remember her name >.< But you go girl!!

I love how her style is so effortless but have touch of elegance in it, perfect for a casual day and a stroll on the seashore. Yaaayy to the power of minimalism!

It's my mom, me and Ms. Fern wearing our favorite headpieces :D
