Mona Al Mansouri

Mona Al Haute Couture collection was definitely my personal favorite runway from the opening ceremony of  The Fashion Festival Bali. Actually I think this she is the only designer that presented a haute couture collection in the whole event. Such a bold move Mona, I must say. Cause honestly it doesn't suit the Bali life that much.

But I owe her a big thanks for taking me and all the other audience out of this world for a few minutes. Her dresses were so magical to my eyes. Actually this is the first time I see a haute couture runway live in front of my eyes, so pardon me if I sound a little exaggerating.

A Brief Introduction

Mona Al Mansouri's garments shimmer in the elegance the United Arab Emirates is famous for. Haute couture ball gowns and an extraordinary bridal collection ignite the princess within. Each piece Mansouri designs demands it be worn while dripping in diamonds and attending red carpet events.

My personal thoughts about Mona Al Mansouri

I love how detailed her works are but sometimes I think it get's overly (too much detail for me). The color combination were bright and eye catching. My favorite color combination have to be the gold and light pink in the few top pictures of my post. I am also a big fan of tutu so it's definitely a yes for all her tutu dresses. Over all her whole collection was really unique and girly. Which is one of the reason that I love it so much I guess. Cause her dresses makes the model looks like princesses from all over the world and It makes me wanna be a princess myself.

One thing that distinct her from all the other designers is the word 'innovative'. There are a few dresses that you can just take off the clips to the skirt and it magically turns into a jumpsuit, a mini dress or something more casual. Two thumbs up for this, Mona!

As promised, this is the first day I'm going to post about each designers on the opening ceremony of The Fashion Festival Bali. And the first lucky feature designer is Xi Zhu from China. All of his designs are actually menswear which is one of the reason why it didn't captivates me that much and the song on the runway was pretty upbeat which is why I failed taking good quality photos of the runway, so sorry for that :(

Honestly I'm still learning and figuring out how to use my camera, but don't worry, I'm getting better and better each day :D

A brief introduction

Xi Zhu is a impeccable embodiment of the less is more philosophy. A newcomer to the world of high-class fashion, Xi Zhu evolved his brand after he finished studying at the London College Of Fashion in the United Kingdom. Already floating to great heights in the world of cutting edge men’s fashion, minimalism is seasoned with special details and the occasional splashing of print. The evolution of Xi Zhu continues along the philosophy of exploring and interpreting the male psyche.

My personal thoughts about Xi Zhu

I am also a believer in the less is more paradigm and I think Xi Zhu's style have uplift that philosophy. He manage to pull off all of the looks on the runway by giving a sophisticated side to the simple cotemporery style. I really loved all of the sleek looks, especially the suit in blue, on the top of my post. Even though Xi Zhu is new to the fashion world I think that his styles are high class and one that the world have waited for. Yay to the power of simplicity!

Although I would like to see how he would work with more prints in his collection, it just keeps me wondering~

It's my first ever youtube video and it's a last minute recording of Xi Zhu's collection for Summer Spring 2015.

Please pardon my shaky hands  ^^

A video with the maestro, Xi Zhu himself in it!

The Fashion Festival (Opening Ceremony)

As you may have known from my Instagram, I have been spending my previous two days on the first row of The Luxurious Trans Hotel Resort Ballroom, watching the most waited Fashion Event in Bali.
Yes, it's nonetheless than The Annual Fashion Festival Bali 2015.

And this is actually my first time coming the as a Blogger, rather than a normal guess. Believe me, it's a fantastic feeling. Some of the outfits are even so breathtaking that it feels like my heart literally stop beating for a few seconds, and that's exactly how the fashion world seems to me. I am like a kid in a candy store.

This is how the ballroom looks like from my point of view

I'm so ready for the show!

I'm wearing my self-designed oriental one sleeve dress for the event, what do you think about it?

A picture at the wall of fame with my girls before the show, Tabitha Budiman & Michelle Yagami <3

Met these awesome Bali fashion bloggers as well, Kak Collin & Kak Yonas

Anyway, I am only going to do a preview and post a snippet of my favorite outfit from each designers here, but to spice things up I will post about each designer's style and my thoughts about it starting from tomorrow on wards! Last but not least, another local brand from Indonesia by Danjyo Hiyoji. This is my personal fave cause I even bought 2 pieces of his masterpiece.

Java Jazz Festival

A few days ago, on the 15-17th August 2015 to be exact. Java Jazz Festival was held once more, here in Bali! The event was held in Taman Baghawan, Nusa Dua, not so far away from where I live. So I decided that I couldn't miss it and attended their first day of the event, just before I have to go for my retreat to Bedugul (some of my instagram followers might have already known about this).

Java Jazz Festival is actually an annual thing here in Bali. The last one was even held in less that 6 months ago, in March. The ticket price for a one day pass cost 100K. But you can stay as long as you want there. The event started on 3pm and end about 11 o'clock. Most of the time it is held in the open air so the sound of jazz music will tingle to your ears and invite you to join in the festival even when you are just passing by.

It was a bit unfortunate that I came late, around 7pm that day. So I only heard a few groups of musician played. But I can't doubt that they are absolutely talented. Even though I'm not exactly the biggest fan of jazz music genre. It still manage to make me smile and I enjoyed it a lot. Actually I'm planning to come back again next year! :D

Does't the stage just look amazing? Especially with the pool and water fountains just below it..

You can see some of the food tenants there, those little bright tents surrounding the field. Since I came there starving and my camera's batery was almost dead, I didn't manage to take a closer shot of the tenants there, so sorry for that :(

Since I attended this event with my family, I couldn't miss the chance of posting a picture of my 3 little munchkins. That's Richard, Catherina and Peter for you, my dearest siblings.

And there were also this Nivea booth that appeals to me, they are actually promoting of their latest product, Nivea Sunblock.

In this booth, they will take a picture of you under a UV light after using Nivea body lotion on one of your hands to see if there are any difference.

Well here's the result of my picture and you can definitely spot the difference right away, since the hand that's under the protection of Nivea sunblock is much darker that the other one under the UV light. I must say, not bad at all :p

A bonus picture of my two little siblings shopping "Jajanan Pasar" or Indonesian Hawkers Food

Food Stalls everywhere :3

A picture at BaliGoLive's soft launching booth

Flapjack's Red Velvet Waffle, YUM!

Honestly the food wasn't that pricey so you wouldn't mind staying there for a long time, you could even enjoy the sunset from their location I guess :D

There have been quite a lot of event's this month and the truth is I feel so guilty for not posting that much lately. I apologize for that, but don't worry lovely readers, I have quite a line up of posts waiting to be posted right here, so please stay tuned! I'll always post at least once a week and more if I have free time. You can follow my Instagram for more up to date informations :D

Here are some pictures of what's in my shopping bag.

I was so happy to finally found this stamping tool since I am a huge fan of old fashioned things and sending letters to my penpals! YAY!

That's all for now,
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! <3
